Netherlands Now Essential for Pan-EU FBA

Amazon has announced a crucial update for Pan-European Fulfilment by Amazon (Pan-EU FBA). To be auto-enrolled in Pan-EU FBA, sellers will soon need an active offer in the Netherlands.

This new requirement applies to both existing and new Amazon sellers and adds to the current listing criteria. Although a specific date for this change is yet to be confirmed, sellers will receive at least 30 days’ notice before the requirement is enforced.

What is Pan-European Fulfilment by Amazon (Pan-EU FBA)?

Pan-EU FBA allows sellers to store and ship products using Amazon’s European fulfilment centres. This programme helps sellers expand their business and reach customers across the EU efficiently and cost-effectively by storing inventory in multiple Amazon fulfilment centres across Europe.

With this new update, having an active offer in the Netherlands will be mandatory for Pan-EU FBA sellers. Amazon will then distribute the seller’s inventory across fulfilment centres based on customer demand, reducing shipping time and costs.

Benefits of Pan-European FBA:

1. Reduced FBA Fees: Storing inventory in European fulfilment centres can lead to significant cost savings, as it lowers fulfilment fees compared to shipping directly from UK fulfilment centres.

2. Access to European Customers: Reach diverse customer demographics efficiently by tapping into multiple European markets.

3. Local Customer Service: Amazon handles all customer service, communicating in the customer's language, so there's no need for Google Translate.

4. Continuous Sales: With different time zones, you can see sales continue to roll in even after UK customers have gone to sleep.

5. International Expansion: Grow your business overseas by accessing millions of potential customers across Amazon's European marketplaces.

Current Listing Requirements for Pan-EU FBA

Presently, Amazon sellers must list FBA products with the same SKU in all required Amazon EU stores: Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Sellers need to choose at least two of these stores to store their goods and ensure they meet relevant product compliance requirements.

What Does This Update Mean for Amazon Sellers?

To continue using the Pan-EU FBA programme, sellers will soon need to list their FBA products on amazon.nl in addition to the existing EU stores.

How Will Amazon Support Sellers?

Amazon will introduce exemptions from Pan-EU FBA listing requirements for products with inactive offers in one or two required stores due to category-specific requirements, local language needs, restricted products, or blocked accounts. These exemptions will apply to the Netherlands once it becomes a required store for Pan-EU FBA listings.
